Addressing early school leaving represents one of the main challenges faced by European educational systems and requires integrated, multidimensional, and evidence-based strategies. As illustrated in the second chapters of Sections 1 and 2 of this volume, within the framework of the E4PED research project — conducted according to the Educational Design Research (EDR) approach, a methodological framework that combines scientific rigor with contextual relevance (McKenney & Reeves, 2019) — an Evidence Gap Map (EGM) was developed to synthesize the available evidence on the effectiveness of programs aimed at preventing early school leaving, alongside an analysis of the territorial context aimed at designing an intervention aligned both with research evidence and with the real needs of the local area.
Contrastare l’abbandono scolastico precoce rappresenta una delle principali sfide dei sistemi educativi europei e richiede strategie integrate, multidimensionali e basate su evidenze. Come illustrato nei secondi capitoli delle Sezioni 1 e 2 del presente volume, nell’ambito della ricerca E4PED – condotta secondo l’approccio dell’Educational Design Research (EDR), un impianto metodologico che combina rigore scientifico e pertinenza contestuale (McKenney & Reeves, 2019), sono state realizzate una Evidence Gap Map (EGM), finalizzata alla sintesi delle evidenze disponibili sull’efficacia dei programmi contro l’abbandono scolastico precoce, e un’analisi del contesto territoriale con l’obiettivo di costruire un intervento coerente sia con le evidenze sia con i bisogni reali del territorio.
