L’alimentazione secondo Girolamo: cibis praeferto doctrinam

The theme of fasting and dietary discipline that Christians must observe according to Jerome is analyzed, based on what emerges from passages in Book II of Adversus Iovinianum and from letters addressed to both female and male recipients. These texts reveal motivations of a religious, moral, economic, as well as medical and cultural nature. Alongside scriptural exempla, Jerome’s reflections also include those derived from pagan cultural tradition. The Christian élite were attributed with...

La versione del I stasimo dell’Ifigenia in Aulide

On said occasion, the author asked the speakers to reflect on the sensitive relationship between female sanctity and mental illness. Specifically, they were asked to inves...

In this text I will seek to demonstrate that female ‘visionary’ mystics are in fact subjects affected by behavioural and personality disturbances disorders, which today are unf...

Synthesis of Oil-Derived Adsorbents for Removal of Emerging Wastewater Pollutants

The increasing demand of polymeric materials in combination to the interest in preventing environmental pollution recently brought to the design and synthesis of polymeric materials from sustainable feedstocks. Several efforts have been devoted to the synthesis of bio-based polymers via ring-opening metathesis polymerization from epoxidized soybean oil and its copolymerization.1,2 While the polymerization of the crude soybean oil is less investigated, in this framework an easy convers...
