Within the framework of a broader strategy for urban renewal of the historical center of Palermo, in line with current European policies, the contribution intends to focus on the current and poten-tial role of those unsolved urban spaces, gravitating around the remains of the city walls. Today, these spaces, usually abandoned or used improperly, can instead become a valuable resource to improve urban quality and tourist attractiveness, with social, economic and environmental implications.
