The observations contained in these pages focus on the re-examination of three Properzian elegies (1, 21; 1, 22; 2, 12) in which, paradigmatically, one grasps the experience of the 'textual journey' conducted by the A. along a conspicuous number of Hellenistic epigrams of funerary or erotic subject interwoven with learned suggestions from different sources.The careful 'rewriting' of Alexandrian hypotheticals attests to the Umbrian poet's sophisticated operation of reappropriation and reformulation of precise echoes in a mosaic fabric with a complex warp dominated by the marked presence of Meleager of Gadara.
