In 2013, thanks to funding from Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan, we embarked on an archaeological excavation, restoration of decorated surfaces, surveying with a total station, 3D scanning, and virtual reconstruction of the decorative apparatus of a Christian oratory discovered in the last century, in the area of St. John's Hospital. The research, aimed not only at understanding the worship environment but also at its enhancement, has been integrated into a broader project of study, restoration, enhancement, and use of the historical buildings of St. John's Hospital, in synergy with the Hospital Authority, the Special Superintendence for Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of Rome, and other participating institutions. In this context, we will focus particularly on restoration interventions, both physical and virtual
