The paper focuses on the links between image and imagination in architecture, with a main purpose: put into evidence how digital representation tools can support the creation of images of unbuilt monuments, particularly those where the imagination of designers makes the light a component of the building. Three case studies are proposed: Terragni’s project for the Danteum in Rome and Le Corbusier’s projects for the Tower of the Shadows in Chandigarh and for the church of Saint Pierre in Firminy.

Abstract
The paper focuses on the links between image and imagination in architecture, with a main purpose: put into evidence how digital representation tools can support the creation of images of unbuilt monuments, particularly those where the imagination of designers makes the light a component of the building. Three case studies are proposed: Terragni’s project for the Danteum in Rome and Le Corbusier’s projects for the Tower of the Shadows in Chandigarh and for the church of Saint Pierre in Firminy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
