In the following study, using an olive grove with a low degree of coverage, approximately 35%, the dynamics of evaporative and transpiration flows were analyzed based on transpiration measurements obtained using the Granier technique and evapotranspiration measurements deduced with a scintillometer (DBSAS-SLS20, Scintec AG). These dynamics were correlated with the trend in soil water content and the water status of the plant, by measuring xylem water potential. The study, conducted in the Castelvetrano (TP) area during the 2008 irrigation season, allowed us to identify the relationship between transpiration and evapotranspiration flows, measured in the days immediately before and after irrigation, and also highlighted the extent of stress caused by the water conditions observed in the soil.
