In the field of higher education, assessment tools must be renewed and diversified, including specific technologies designed for assessment. This paper aims to enhance the reflection on those teaching practices that are most effective for the integration of new technologies for formative assessment and peer evaluation at university. In particular, we want to check whether the evaluation forms based on the use of the Peergrade platform are more effective in a face-to-face interaction teaching approach rather than on remote interactions between one lesson and the next one. The research is conducted on a sample of 203 students attending the course of Experimental Pedagogy at the University of Palermo and at the University of Catania and it uses a mixed methods research methodology in order to investigate the qualitative and quantitative differences between the two teaching and evaluation approaches.
