Many solid tumors, including breast cancer, are composed of heterogeneous cell populations, namely neoplastic cell subpopu lations and host cells of various origin, which may interact between each others in complex networks. Tumor cells can mod ify the epigenetic program of stromal cells that in turn may produce epigenetic changes in tumor cells.
