Building upon Culotta's research line on migrants in Sicily—which began in the 1990s, was continued by Sarro and Tuzzolino, and was further explored through a joint initiative by Tuzzolino, Sarro, and Macaluso—this contribution presents the current historic center of Palermo as a case study. Once abandoned by its native inhabitants and given new meaning by migrants, the area reveals new potential through their residential practices. These practices embody architectural approaches that contribute to the creation of public space as a common good.

Abstract
Building upon Culotta's research line on migrants in Sicily—which began in the 1990s, was continued by Sarro and Tuzzolino, and was further explored through a joint initiative by Tuzzolino, Sarro, and Macaluso—this contribution presents the current historic center of Palermo as a case study. Once abandoned by its native inhabitants and given new meaning by migrants, the area reveals new potential through their residential practices. These practices embody architectural approaches that contribute to the creation of public space as a common good.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
