Fuzzy subalgebras, introduced in the framework of universal algebra, provide a unifying approach to fuzzy algebraic structures by interpreting degrees of membership in terms of semantic vagueness. In this paper, we study categorical aspects of fuzzy subalgebras by investigating functors between fuzzy varieties arising naturally from their crisp counterparts. We develop general results on such functors and analyse their behaviour with respect to free–forgetful adjunctions. As an application, we focus on non-associative (unital) algebras, MV-algebras, and Wajsberg hoops, illustrating how the proposed framework captures relevant structures from many-valued logic.
