Novissima urbs, una rappresentazione

The essay reconstructs the transformations of the contemporary city of Agrigento through a representation, with different scenes and precise temporal glimpses, starting from the nineteenth-century transformations, up to the complexity of the contemporary city, marked by an internal contradiction between natural-archaeological space and incoherent transformations that have led to a form of polycentric city that has often ignored the values that derive from its ancient past.

Il saggio ricostruisce le trasformazioni delle città contemporanea di Agrigento attraverso una rappresentazione, con differenti scene e in precisi scorci temporali, a partire dalle trasformazioni ottocentesce, sino a giungere alla complessità della città contemporanea, contrassegnata da una interna contraddizione tra spazio naturale-archeologico e trasformazioni incoerenti che hanno condotto ad una forma di città policentrica che ha spesso disconosciuto i valori che provengono dal suo antico passato.
