This contribution analyses the work of Sally Bayley (1972), a British writer and academic who gained recognition for her auto/biographical trilogy consisting of Girl with Dove: A Life Built by Books (2018), No Boys Play Here: A Story of Shakespeare and My Family’s Missing Men (2021), and The Green Lady (2023). The portrait of the author outlined in this article engages directly with the interview titled On Writing and the Authorial Self: Memory, Literary Landscapes, and Identity – Interview with Sally Bayley, published in English within the “Più vita che di qua” section of this journal, providing a direct comparison between the critical interpretation and the author’s personal perspective on her literary work. In this way, the examination of Bayley’s narrative strategies and her creative and critical practices is enriched by her reflections on the authorial self, on memory, and on the real and literary landscapes that shape her artistic identity, providing an overview of the vitality that characterizes her writing. This article aims to demonstrate how the plurality of Bayley’s production is expressed not only through the hybridization of genres but also through her crossing of boundaries between different traditions, artistic languages, and media: it thus reveals an authorial profile grounded in a persistent drive toward experimentation, highlighting the significance of her practice both within contemporary life writing and in the broader exploration of new literary forms.

Questo contributo analizza la produzione di Sally Bayley (1972), scrittrice e docente britannica divenuta celebre per la sua trilogia auto/biografica composta da Girl with Dove: A Life Built by Books (2018), No Boys Play Here: A Story of Shakespeare and My Family’s Missing Men (2021) e The Green Lady (2023).
