The Russian military aggression has radically transformed the lives of Ukrainians, making hope for a better future a crucial element for the survival of civil society. Numerous articles in Ukrainian media emphasize the importance of maintaining a positive vision for the future during this dramatic period. The question we pose is: how can the hope of Ukrainians be measured, and how is it expressed in the context of military conflict? In addition to gathering existing sociological data to identify the factors that fuel hope within the Ukrainian population, we examined the language used by an «average user» regarding the conflict. To structure our analysis, we employed the concept of «Hope speech», contrasted with “Hate speech”, identifying specific thematic subcategories. In conclusion, we observed that both types of discourse are linked by a common sentiment of hope for a positive future.

Abstract
In conclusion, we observed that both types of discourse are linked by a common sentiment of hope for a positive future.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
