The aim of the essay is to illustrate, through two crucial books by Calvino such as "Il barone rampante" (1957) and "Le città invisibili" (1972), the articulation in his work of a real environmental discourse, predestined for great success not only in the literary field, but especially in the visual one. The function of the writer regards the sphere of «visibility», being his writing - by the author’s own admission - the development of the narrative potentialities of an image. The interpretation of the ecological parable of the «rampant baron» offered by Roger Olmos' "Cosimo" (2016) is very significant, under the banner of plant metamorphosis, as well as the visual translation of the "Invisible cities" proposed by Pedro Cano (2004) and a dense array of visionary international artists.

Abstract
The aim of the essay is to illustrate, through two crucial books by Calvino such as "Il barone rampante" (1957) and "Le città invisibili" (1972), the articulation in his work of a real environmental discourse, predestined for great success not only in the literary field, but especially in the visual one. The function of the writer regards the sphere of «visibility», being his writing - by the author’s own admission - the development of the narrative potentialities of an image. The interpretation of the ecological parable of the «rampant baron» offered by Roger Olmos' "Cosimo" (2016) is very significant, under the banner of plant metamorphosis, as well as the visual translation of the "Invisible cities" proposed by Pedro Cano (2004) and a dense array of visionary international artists.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
