Democracy is an expensive form of government. But it is right that this reality is known, shared and supported by the community. If this were not the case, politics would be an activity reserved only for the rich. However, precisely for this reason, those who care about democracy must ask themselves how much of the money used for its functioning is necessary. And how much, instead, constitutes an unacceptable waste of money, capable of producing corruption and degeneration in public life and in civil society, attracted by power and its donations.
