Swaphype is a research idea with the aim of experimenting, through service design, strategies for measuring and catalysing actions implemented in the field of the circular economy. The goal is to convert habits and practices into good behaviours: we mostly measure our consumption and our impacts, but we do not pay as much attention to balancing and compensating our footprint. Is it therefore possible to generate awareness by transferring tracking and rewarding methods, which are already applied in other sectors, into circular economy models? In this research, the action of the individual becomes a systemised contribution to the community. The aim is to stress the concept of active citizenship, to contaminate and disseminate good practices such as the recent energy- sharing community. This is why the methodology includes the structuring of a service as a tool for mapping and measuring the value of reuse, exchange and repair practices. The service will be a space for the recognition of new communities and an interactive mode of compensation. The idea is to co-design this system by optimising the possibility of visualising the systemic process of circularity. The representative object of the research is the scale as a measuring instrument in the first place, but also an emblem of balance. It will thus be possible to converge the tracking and balancing of our behaviour with regard to the circular economy.
