This work presents an overview of the main energy management concepts and technical challenges for smart grid applications towards a sustainable and smart evolution of the Distributed Electric Systems (DES). Different scenarios are pointed out, highlighting the possible benefits from both the technical and economical points of view. The final part of the paper addresses the main issues related to the integration of electric vehicles in smart grids, which represents one of the biggest challenges for energy management in smart grid evolution.

Abstract
This work presents an overview of the main energy management concepts and technical challenges for smart grid applications towards a sustainable and smart evolution of the Distributed Electric Systems (DES). Different scenarios are pointed out, highlighting the possible benefits from both the technical and economical points of view. The final part of the paper addresses the main issues related to the integration of electric vehicles in smart grids, which represents one of the biggest challenges for energy management in smart grid evolution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
