Writing as a means of developing community

Writing is not a virtue or a means for the few. Once we surpass the primary orality of childhood and arrive at early adolescence, we are all capable of it. Books, letters, notebooks and instant messaging are direct evidence of how writing has become an objective complement of existence. It goes beyond the mere necessity of communicating; it is a way to document, delve into, say, and define ourselves, since the voice is not always enough to express all that we feel. In addition, writing preserves our thoughts, which would otherwise be lost if spoken aloud. There are ongoing research and studies by educational philosophers, psychologists and writers, in order to understand how and when writing becomes a care for existence and an existential remedy. Furthermore, it investigates the possibility that it is a new adhesive to meet the other, both as a solipsistic practice and as a community. Newbookclub community lab is a practical and applicable example of Community Writing, an experiential laboratory of writing and community with high inclusivity, which aims to create forms of belonging in new promotional educational contexts.
