In this paper, a focus on the Dynamic Inductive Power Transfer (DIPT) systems is made, and two alternative configurations are presented and discussed from both an economic and technical point of view. In particular, the possibility of using a multiple receiver is analyzed. As result, it has been seen that the increase in the number of receiver coils, with and adequate placement on the vehicle side involves a significant reduction of the number of transmitting coils and consequent reduction of the costs of the entire charging infrastructure.

Abstract

In this paper, a focus on the Dynamic Inductive Power Transfer (DIPT) systems is made, and two alternative configurations are presented and discussed from both an economic and technical point of view. In particular, the possibility of using a multiple receiver is analyzed. As result, it has been seen that the increase in the number of receiver coils, with and adequate placement on the vehicle side involves a significant reduction of the number of transmitting coils and consequent reduction of the costs of the entire charging infrastructure.
