This study, starting with the images of some projects from the private archive of Salvatore Cardella, a Sicilian architect who worked from the 1920s to the 1970s, aims to highlight the role of archives not only for the knowledge of little-known projects by equally unknown architects, but above all for their value as custodians of memory and bearers of knowledge. “Architecture in the drawer” therefore has not only a material value but also an ethical value.
