An education capable of harmoniously involving every dimension that constitutes the human being, including the education of the body, calls for the assumption of a procedural habitus capable of identifying the most suitable didactic and methodological strategies to promote inclusion processes with the adoption of a physical and sporting practice that is "for all" and "for everyone". The theme of sports practice for people with disabilities goes far beyond the simplification of a healthy lifestyle, but refers to complex aspects of a pedagogical, educational, social and cultural nature that contribute to outlining the education and training system of the future. professionals in this area. For this purpose, the research examined the scientific, disciplinary and professional orientations inherent to Adapted Physical Education (APE), illustrated to future professionals within the course of General and Special Pedagogy, for the degree course in Activity Sciences sports and motor skills of the University of Palermo. In this direction, it was intended to test how the use of US-based APE methodologies would allow the improvement of the coping strategies of future physical education professionals. In particular, the five cognitive and behavioral aspects developed by future inclusive motor education professionals were examined at the end of a specific training course, regarding the coping styles developed through the use of APE methodology.

Un’educazione capace di coinvolgere in maniera armonica ogni dimensione che costituisce l’essere umano, ivi compresa l’educazione del corpo richiama l’assunzione di un habitus procedurale in grado di individuare le strategie didattiche e metodologiche più idonee a promuovere processi di inclusione con l’adozione di una pratica fisica e sportiva che sia “per tutti” e “di ciascuno”. Il tema della pratica sportiva per le persone con disabilità, va ben oltre la semplificazione di uno stile di vita sano, ma rimanda ad aspetti complessi di natura pedagogica, educativa, sociale e culturale che concorrono a delineare il sistema di istruzione e di formazione dei futuri professionisti in tale ambito. A questo scopo, nella ricerca sono stati esaminati gli orientamenti scientifici, disciplinari e professionali inerenti l’Adapted Physical Education (APE), illustrati ai futuri professionisti all’interno del corso di Pedagogia generale e speciale, per il corso di laurea in Scienze delle attività motorie e sportive dell’Università degli Studi di Palermo. In questa direzione si è inteso sperimentare come l’uso delle metodologie dell’APE, di matrice statunitense, permettessero il miglioramento delle strategie di coping dei futuri professionisti dell’educazione motoria. In particolare sono stati esaminati, al termine di uno specifico percorso formativo, i cinque aspetti cognitivi e comportamentali sviluppati dai futuri professionisti dell’educazione motoria inclusiva, circa gli stili di coping sviluppati attraverso l’uso della metodologia APE.
