The contribution collects the epilogative reports (Research Report) of a specific research conducted on technology as a science applied to the existing heritage beyond good practices, outside of elite niches that are not very representative of common building production. These now need a technologically flexible approach, grafted on the consensus and on the evolutionary participation of what has already been done and can still be done (Germanà, 2008). We refer to building technology as the science of building capable of triggering new paths of doing inherent in the processes of transformation, completion and regeneration of the existing; from 'sensitive' research to new qualities of possible space (Del Nord, 2003); from enlightened thoughts (Perriccioli, 2016) to training and productive activities, capable of implementing actions with 'renewed' responsibility (Lo Sasso, 2019), those paths of "doing more and better with less" starting from what already we have. These practices are part of the auspices of Meta 2030: "The role of technology in the transformation of the territory", in the acceptance of the references of measure 11 "Sustainable cities and communities" and 12 "Responsible consumption and production". We believe that the act of building must always be noble but above all responsible, using and choosing those "adaptive" techniques and technologies that offer sustainable solutions far from the exercises that architecture often loves to do (Lerner, 2012). With every action, the architect will always have to ask himself if the fallout justifies his actions. In order to be aesthetes and technicians of their time, everyone 'must' stay away from ambitions, useless constructions and in any case always act with responsible criteria, by means of the rediscovery of materials, elements and technologies, even obsolete of our time, and apply them with 'renewed' ability ( Faroldi, 2018).

Il contributo raccoglie i rapporti epilogativi (Research Report) di una specifica ricerca condotta sulla tecnologia come scienza applicata al patrimonio dell’esistente oltre le good practices, al di fuori di nicchie elitarie poco rappresentative della comune produzione edilizia. Queste, ora, hanno bisogno di un approccio tecnologicamente flessibile, innestato sul consenso e sulla partecipazione evolutiva del già fatto e dal potersi ancora fare (Germanà, 2008). Ci riferiamo alla tecnologia edilizia come scienza del costruire capace di innescare nuovi percorsi del fare inerenti ai processi di trasformazione, completamento e rigenerazione dell’esistente; da ricerche ‘sensibili’ a nuove qualità dello spazio possibile (Del Nord, 2003); da illuminati pensieri (Perriccioli, 2016) ad attività formative e produttive, capaci di porre in essere le azioni con ‘rinnovata’ responsabilità (Lo Sasso, 2019), quei percorsi del “fare di più e meglio con meno” partendo da ciò che già abbiamo. Tali pratiche si inseriscono negli auspici di Meta 2030: “Il ruolo della tecnologia nella trasformazione del territorio”, nell’accezione dei riferimenti della misura n.11 “Città e comunità sostenibili” e n.12 “Consumo e produzione responsabili”. Crediamo che l’atto del costruire debba esser sempre nobile ma soprattutto responsabile, usando e scegliendo quelle tecniche e tecnologie “adattive” che pongano soluzioni sostenibili lontane dagli esercizi che spesso l’architettura ama fare (Lerner, 2012). Con ogni azione, l’architetto dovrà sempre domandarsi se le ricadute giustifichino le proprie azioni. Per essere esteti e tecnici del proprio tempo ognuno ‘dovrà’ porsi lontano da velleità, costruzioni inutili e comunque agire sempre con criterio responsabile, a mezzo della riscoperta di materiali, elementi e tecnologie anche desuete del nostro tempo ed applicarle con ‘rinnovata’ capacità (Faroldi, 2018).
