The paper presents a new version of the SEDD (SEdiment Delivery Distributed Model) distributed model that couples the RUSLE or USLE-MM with a spatially distributed criterion for estimating the transfer processes of eroded particles within a catchment area. Specifically, the application of a catchment-scale erosivity factor, which also takes into account the flow process at the hillslope scale, and a soil erodibility factor determined using parcel measurements conducted in the Sparacia experimental area in Sicily, is proposed. The model was calibrated using liquid and solid flow measurements taken in the SPA1 and SPA2 experimental basins located in the same experimental area.
