The paper presents the guideline of a broad exchange project between the University of Palermo and the Sichuan International Studies University of Chongqing (China), In particular, we discuss the methods we use in order to improve the linguistic skills of the Chinese students that learn Italian in China and in Italy. Among the other aspects, we focus on the use of the dependency grammar and the Chinese students' development of textual competence in Italian.
