The paper investigates issues related to the principles of eco-sustainability and criteria of de-sign choice to be made in respect to the characteristics of the interventions. It proposes cases of recovery and re-use sustainable in Sicily, whose choices of action were made in respect of the environment and local traditions. General directives: reduction of the energy consump-tion; use of recycled and recyclable materials;improvement of the thermo/igrometric. The programming is based not only on the control of the performance, but on an idea of global quality of the operations. The correspondence between the needs and the requirements of the organism and the norms that protect the user, it’s a necessary condition to complete a renovation project and achieving the objectives.
