The paper analyses two testimonies of Baroque architecture in east-central Sicily and presents a summary of the considerations raised during the execution of diagnostic tests and the development of restoration projects. In particular, the research, also based on the archival research, is developed by a cognitive process that integrates the analysis of the state of preservation, the diagnosis of the forms of alteration and the choice of the compatible restoration techniques. In addition to preserving the monuments, the revitalization of the two churches is implemented through the re-use of some areas as exhibition spaces. The cataloguing of antique furnishings, sacred objects, works of pictorial art and ecclesiastical robes helped to highlight the substantial value of the artistic equipment of churches. The exhibition itineraries are designed within the churches. The layout of the spaces, in respect of a correct historical reading, heads towards the contemporary definition of the elements for the fruition and intends to reintroduce the two architectures in a widespread museum system, connected to the religious tourism.
