Lead-acid batteries are still extensively used in the field of energy storage, but their low specific energy capacity (about 30-40 Wh kg¹) [1], in comparison with other accumulators, limits the possibility of their application in advanced systems. However, the production process is well consolidated and about 95% of the materials used for their production is completely recyclable [2]. The present work was undertaken to optimize synthesis and testing of nanostructured electrodes for lead-acid batteries, to use them in advanced systems like electrical traction. Really, nanostructured electrodes are an attractive alternative to the currently used pasted electrodes because their high aspect ratio and consequent high surface area that provide high specific energy batteries
