This paper seeks to bring to light a reflection on two emblematic figures such as the translator and the actor. The theoretical considerations come from an analysis of the historic-cultural background in which their subjects born and grow up: translation and theatre. The aim is answering to some questions such as: “And if the translator was like an actor who interprets his/her text? Is it pos sible defining them as two sides of the same coin?” This is the starting point with the aim to find out an answer to this issue.
