GeoGeophilosophy and Anthropocene: a conversation with Tim Ingold and Andrea Le Moli

This interview emerged from the 2025 Sicily Summer School in Environmental Humanities at the University of Palermo, devoted to the geophilosophy of Deleuze and Guattari. Its guiding hypothesis is that no concept arises in a neutral space: every thought has an environment, a terrestrial consistency. The dialogue joins Tim Ingold’s ecological anthropology and Andrea Le Moli’s historical-philosophical reflection on the constitution of territories and landscapes. It moves through five nuclei: the distinction between territory, environment, and landscape; ge- ophilosophy as “thinking with the earth”; a critique of the Anthropocene, opposing Ingold’s “neotenic” humanism to Le Moli’s anthropokenosis; the unresolved legacy of Deleuze and Guat- tari; and anthropocentrism, reframed as Ingold’s “benign anthropocentrism” and Le Moli’s immanent conflict of t
