L’ACN: la risposta istituzionale alla nuova sfida degli attacchi cyber in Italia

This contribution examines the establishment and role of the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) as an institutional response to the growing complexity of cyber threats. It explores the relationship between security, freedom, trust and constitutionalism, framing the ACN within the evolution of digital sovereignty. Drawing on the Agency’s annual reports for 2022–2024, the analysis assesses the development of Italy’s cybersecurity governance and its capacity to prevent and respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The ACN ultimately emerges as both a strategic cybersecurity actor and an institution fostering trust between the State, citizens and society in the digital sphere
