Like many of Eduardo Souto de Moura’s works, the House in Moledo speaks of a regard for the land, weaving a dialogue that—at every point of its siting—interrogates the depths of the invisible. And it is precisely within the truth of this dialogue that the miracle of a revelation unfolds. The design process, as a journey of formal articulation, is thus both a physical and mental voyage of discovery—uncovering relationships and meanings through a balance of proportion. The house is a delicate crystal case that seems to hold, within its stillness and the silence of its interior, all those primal, hostile forces—now transformed into the harmonious joy of the design. It is an aesthetic device that unveils the site’s latent, ineffable truth, only to veil it once more after laying bare its irreducible, essential beauty; it cloaks it, that is, in the discreet veil of architecture—the only medium capable of making its representation possible and its physical experience tangible.

Abstract
It is an aesthetic device that unveils the site’s latent, ineffable truth, only to veil it once more after laying bare its irreducible, essential beauty; it cloaks it, that is, in the discreet veil of architecture—the only medium capable of making its representation possible and its physical experience tangible.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
