The present research aims at investigating, through the lexical and anthropological analysis of the Vergilian verses and with particular attention to the symbolic and cultural context of Buthrotum, the exile’s and bereavement’s effects on Andromache. This contribution explores how, in the exile’s experience, the persistence of memory can function as a force of resistance to the encounter with the other, not only meant as “other from self”, but also as “other in self”, preventing processes of synthesis or identitarian transformation.

Abstract
The present research aims at investigating, through the lexical and anthropological analysis of the Vergilian verses and with particular attention to the symbolic and cultural context of Buthrotum, the exile’s and bereavement’s effects on Andromache. This contribution explores how, in the exile’s experience, the persistence of memory can function as a force of resistance to the encounter with the other, not only meant as “other from self”, but also as “other in self”, preventing processes of synthesis or identitarian transformation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
