Islam e politica in Europa: le dichiarazioni pubbliche sulla prevenzione in pandemia

The Covid-19 pandemic has had many repercussions on various aspects of everyone’s lives. It is particularly important to examine its effects on specific communities, such as the Muslim community in Europe. Indeed, it is interesting to observe their communication during a period in which the wider ‘infodemic’, which developed around a disease that was initially unknown and terribly lethal, has been compounded by processes of disinformation and stigmatisation affecting minority groups. To this end, through exploratory research, we analysed the documents issued by certain European Islamic religious institutions during the 2020 lockdown, published in an attempt to prevent the spread of the pandemic amongst the faithful, by adapting religious practices to the anti-Covid regulations in force in their countries of residence.
