Recidere i legami: l'impatto dell'entanglement deportativo sulle reti sociali

This study focuses on the effects of the “deportation machine” on the social ties of migrants. In this context the machine is to be intended as a complex web of borders - geographical, social, and legal ones - that go far beyond national lines, having a great impact on migrants’ social and economic relationships. Through a literature review, the article highlights how migration control tools, such as document checks, administrative detention and forced removals, hinder migrants’ ability to build and maintain meaningful social ties. Moreover, it tackles how these processes produce forms of exclusion and vulnerability, which deeply impact society and individual well-being.
