This study aims to explore the specific features of teaching practices based on intercomprehension among Slavic languages. It outlines the method of contrastive pedagogical translation from Russian into Ukrainian. Particular attention is devoted to the linguistic situation in Ukraine, shaped by the influence of the Russian language — a factor that affects pedagogical choices and makes the selection of instructional materials especially important. The study also includes a survey of students’ opinions regarding the proposed teaching approach, which confirms its effectiveness.
