The aim of this paper is to tentatively explore the role of fuzzy set theory (FST) as a useful bridge between hard sciences and humanities. The idea of pursuing this endeavor gradually emerged in the last 3 years, as the common denominator of work done for clarifying a few questions raised along some initiatives promoted by Rudolf Seising and Enric Trillas. The first question, about the search for a common thread in the birth of new notions in the general field of information sciences, was discussed at the International Congress on Soft Computing in Humanities and Social Sciences [30].

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to tentatively explore the role of fuzzy set theory (FST) as a useful bridge between hard sciences and humanities. The idea of pursuing this endeavor gradually emerged in the last 3 years, as the common denominator of work done for clarifying a few questions raised along some initiatives promoted by Rudolf Seising and Enric Trillas. The first question, about the search for a common thread in the birth of new notions in the general field of information sciences, was discussed at the International Congress on Soft Computing in Humanities and Social Sciences [30].| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
