In this paper we shall present and discuss some foundational aspects of fuzzy sets [21] by looking at connections between various aspects of the “informational” scientific revolution which took place in the middle of the last century, involving in the first place the birth and the first evolution of Cybernetics. A reflection about the consequences of these connections for the future of the disciplines involved will be made in [15].

Abstract

In this paper we shall present and discuss some foundational aspects of fuzzy sets [21] by looking at connections between various aspects of the “informational” scientific revolution which took place in the middle of the last century, involving in the first place the birth and the first evolution of Cybernetics. A reflection about the consequences of these connections for the future of the disciplines involved will be made in [15].
