A checklist of macromycetes of Tunisia has been previously published with reference only to macro morphological identification. This paper provides a second contribution to the inventory of macromycetes in northern areas of Tunisia. This investigation is based on polyphasic approaches including morphological criteria, rDNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) analysis, and habitat descriptions. 140 species (138 basidiomycetes (99%) and 2 ascomycetes (1%)) belonging to 65 genera and 34 families were recorded. This study offers a valuable repository of information on fungal biodiversity and the distribution of the macrofungi across five different vegetation types, as well as data to assess the biogeographic distribution of macrofungi in Tunisia.

Abstract
A checklist of macromycetes of Tunisia has been previously published with reference only to macro morphological identification. This paper provides a second contribution to the inventory of macromycetes in northern areas of Tunisia. This investigation is based on polyphasic approaches including morphological criteria, rDNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) analysis, and habitat descriptions. 140 species (138 basidiomycetes (99%) and 2 ascomycetes (1%)) belonging to 65 genera and 34 families were recorded. This study offers a valuable repository of information on fungal biodiversity and the distribution of the macrofungi across five different vegetation types, as well as data to assess the biogeographic distribution of macrofungi in Tunisia.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
