In very recent times, the digitalization and networking of the plaster casts of ancient sculpture in the Department Cultures and Societies at the University of Palermo were accomplished. This collection was established between the end of XIX and the beginning of XX century and a few years ago has been entirely set up again and made visitable. The explanatory notes to the images of the forty casts of the collection are now available to anyone, in a dedicated section of the website of the Department Cultures and Societies. The digitalization of the collections of this kind is very important. The online accessibility of photographs of the exhibit helps, first of all, the scholars of the plaster cast collections, who have the opportunity in this way to know and compare the preserved materials. But of course it is also useful to all the interested persons, who are so able to get in touch with some little museum realities like this one as well, destined otherwise to remain little known.

Abstract
But of course it is also useful to all the interested persons, who are so able to get in touch with some little museum realities like this one as well, destined otherwise to remain little known.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
