Five Elements, a Thousand Stories presents Design&Territori 2025 as an expanding laboratory and collective experiment developed within the framework of Agrigento – Italian Capital of Culture. The exhibition positions design as a living cultural practice that connects universities, enterprises, institutions, and local communities through situated, real-world projects. Structured around five thematic sections inspired by Empedocles—Roots, Care, Experience, Exploration, and Identity—the curatorial framework interprets design as a relational and transformative force capable of linking memory and innovation, material culture and systemic vision. Beyond a showcase of outcomes, the exhibition foregrounds education as a critical, practice-based process and promotes alliances between academia and society. The catalogue thus functions as both archive and map, documenting collaborative processes while inviting ongoing dialogue, regeneration, and shared value creation across territories.
