This article aims to draw attention to an area that has been little investigated but has undergone several changes over time due to the numerous migrations of people who have gradually settled in the northern Nebrodi and have gradually changed its appearance with their culture and the inclusion of new crops. Sites such as Amestratos, Alunzio, Apollonia and the other minor centers on the Nebrodi, although they are still little investigated due to the lack of systematic and in-depth studies, show their respectable vitality both in antiquity and in the Middle Ages. It is urgent to start a more systematic study of these areas in order to know the original state of the places and start actions to protect the archaeological sites and landscape assets.
