In the academic context of increasing mobility and cultural pluralism, there is a need to redefine the role of the university teacher toward an intercultural perspective. No longer just a transmitter of knowledge, the teacher becomes a builder of bridges between cultures, promoting an inclusive learning environment that values diversity. This change requires a significant pedagogical-didactic investment, which by moving beyond traditional teaching methods enables university teachers to cultivate new attitudes and communication styles. Intercultural competence requires faculty to recognise and overcome their own biases, understand different cultural perspectives, and adapt their communication to break down language barriers. This article analyses the profile of the university teacher from a cross-cultural perspective, highlighting the challenges and opportunities presented by students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The cross-cultural perspective emphasises the importance of creating learning environments that promote collaboration and foster a deeper understanding of different social and cultural realities. Ultimately, effective cross-cultural teaching requires dedicated planning, faculty training, and a commitment to fostering a cooperative and inclusive academic community that values interdisciplinarity and global awareness.
