The research focuses on the endogenous and exogenous factors that hinder, facilitate, or promote the planning capacity needed to reconfigure one's life path and identity following a turning point. The author takes the turning point category as an interpretive tool of social differentiation to understand whether and how people who differ in their possession and use of social capital, lifestyle and residence in spatial areas manage turning points. The research problem opens up a deep reflection on the meaning of social difference gaps in terms of community welfare, integration, achievement of individual as well as collective well-being.
