Rap e talent show. Osservazioni linguistiche su Nuova Scena - Rhythm + Flow Italia

This article examines Nuova Scena – Rhythm + Flow Italia from a linguistic perspective. As Netflix’s first talent show entirely devoted to Italian rap and its subgenres, the program represents the Italian adaptation of the U.S. format Rhythm + Flow. In its two editions (2024/2025), artists Fabri Fibra, Rose Villain, and Geolier judge a selected group of rappers from across Italy competing for a €100,000 prize. The paper is organized into three sections: a linguistic analysis of the lyrics of the songs performed across the two seasons; an examination of several samples of speech produced by members of the Italian rap in-group; finally, an analysis of textual content disseminated through social media.

Il presente articolo si propone di approfondire da un punto di vista linguistico il programma Nuova Scena – Rhythm + Flow Italia, primo talent show di Netflix esclusivamente dedicato al rap italiano e ai suoi sottogeneri. Nella serie, adattamento italiano del format statunitense Rhythm + Flow, gli artisti Fabri Fibra, Rose Villain e Geolier ascoltano e valutano, in veste di giudici, un gruppo selezionato di giovani rapper emergenti, in competizione per un premio di 100.000 euro. Lo studio proposto segue tre direttrici di indagine: sono stati analizzati i testi musicali presentati nelle prime due stagioni della serie, alcuni campioni di parlato dei rappresentanti dell’in-group del rap italiano e i contenuti promozionali pubblicati sui social network di Netflix Italia.
