In the Preußisches Geheimes Staatsarchiv of Berlin are preserved some letters written by the Altertumswissenschaftler Barthold Georg Niebuhr (1776-1831) to Prussian Statesman Karl August von Hardenberg (1750-1822) between 1810 and 1821. A diplomatic transcription of twelve of them is given for the first time.
