This chapter explores the concept of ‘Sonic Heritage’ as a fundamental yet often overlooked dimension of archaeological research. It highlights the significant contribution of female researchers in pioneering the use of 3D technology and virtual acoustic analysis to reconstruct the soundscapes of the past. By examining key case studies—including the Roman theatre at Gortyna, the sanctuary of Zeus on Mount Lykaion, and the Stesichoros project at Selinunte—the author demonstrates how auralisation techniques allow for a deeper understanding of the sensory and social functions of ancient public and sacred spaces. The study promotes a multidisciplinary approach, merging auditory archaeology with digital sound studies to recover lost sonic experiences and investigate the relationship between acoustic design and ritual activity in antiquity
