This Special Issue moves from the reflections that emerged during the national Conference of Italian legal clinics, held in 2024 at the University of Roma Tre, which had as title "The Role of Legal Clinics in the Social and Legal Mediation of Conflict". The conference had, in fact, been an opportunity for exchange and reasoning on what role legal clinics, a phenomenon that has been established and widespread throughout the world for decades, can play today within a highly conflictual legal, political and social context, marked by increasing compression of rights and freedoms, and not only for social groups defined as vulnerable or minority.

Abstract

This Special Issue moves from the reflections that emerged during the national Conference of Italian legal clinics, held in 2024 at the University of Roma Tre, which had as title "The Role of Legal Clinics in the Social and Legal Mediation of Conflict". The conference had, in fact, been an opportunity for exchange and reasoning on what role legal clinics, a phenomenon that has been established and widespread throughout the world for decades, can play today within a highly conflictual legal, political and social context, marked by increasing compression of rights and freedoms, and not only for social groups defined as vulnerable or minority.
