By analyzing a selection of passages taken from the Tristia and the Epistulae ex Ponto, we aim to investigate anthropologically the condition of Ovid as an exile starting from the connection between «active solitude» and «suffered solitude», both in respect to the Romans and the Pontic people: eventually, we're going to demonstrate the process by which Ovid, after fearing, in a first phase, linguistic and cultural contamination with the «inhuman» Pontic barbarians, integrates with them.

Abstract
By analyzing a selection of passages taken from the Tristia and the Epistulae ex Ponto, we aim to investigate anthropologically the condition of Ovid as an exile starting from the connection between «active solitude» and «suffered solitude», both in respect to the Romans and the Pontic people: eventually, we're going to demonstrate the process by which Ovid, after fearing, in a first phase, linguistic and cultural contamination with the «inhuman» Pontic barbarians, integrates with them.File in questo prodotto:
