Appendice - Un catalogo delle finestre intagliate nel coro ligneo di San Martino delle Scale

This paper presents an analytical catalogue of the carved window motifs decorating the choir stalls of the abbey church of San Martino delle Scale. The study identifies several recurring typologies among the otherwise unique designs, revealing both the precision and inventiveness of the craftsmen, Nunzio Ferraro and Giovan Battista Vagliante. Through the redrawing and geometric analysis of the carvings, the research highlights the carvers’ engagement with Renaissance architectural culture and the fluid boundaries between architecture and the decorative arts in the sixteenth century.
